Lorraine Korda is the Columbiana County Career and Technical Center’s October Student of the Month. Lorraine is a senior from Lisbon David Anderson High School and is enrolled in the Veterinary Science Technology (VST) Program under the instruction of Mrs. Jamie Stacy.
Lorraine is a member of the FFA Chapter and the National Technical Honor Society Chapter at the CCCTC. At Lisbon, she is a member of the National Honor Society, The Blue Pride Marching Band, the Science Club, and the Drama Club. Lorraine is also a member of the Jr. Fair Board and a member of the Youth Coalition. She serves as the treasurer of the class of 2026 and is a Kent State University Rising Scholar. You can find Lorraine working at the Subway in Lisbon.
Upon graduation, she plans to attend Ohio State University to become a biology teacher. Lorraine stated, “I wanted to attend the CCCTC since the first time I saw it in 8th grade. I fell in love with the vet tech program my sophomore year during visits and decided to go.”
Lorraine was nominated by Mrs. Stacy stating, “Lorraine is an outstanding senior who truly embodies dedication, leadership, and resilience, making her a deserving choice for Student of the Month. She is extremely active in FFA, where she serves as chapter reporter and plays a vital role in sharing the organization’s story. Her commitment extends beyond the classroom as she joined the Junior Fairboard, attending numerous work sessions and dedicating her time throughout the entire fair week to ensure its success. Despite the difficult loss of her mother last year, she has shown incredible strength by keeping her head high and continuing to pour herself into her school, community, and passions. Known for her positive attitude and ability to work well with anyone, she is a valued member of the Vet Science Classroom. At Lisbon, she is in the top of her class, and is also a member of the school band and is highly involved in a variety of other school activities. Her leadership, perseverance, and enthusiasm are an inspiration to her peers and a testament to her character. She will be going onto college next fall with the hopes of landing in Vet Science or Biology fields, and I know she will be successful.”
Lorraine is the daughter of Jason Webb and the late Amanda Korda-Webb.
