EAST LIVERPOOL — There is still time for area artists to register for the Second Annual East Liverpool Artist Retreat. The retreat begins at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1 and runs through noon Aug. 3 at the Sturgis House Bed and Breakfast, 122 W. Fifth St., East Liverpool.
The event will offer participants unstructured time to paint, draw and connect with other artists. A featured part of the weekend will be a painting demonstration from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday by nationally-recognized and award-winning artist Chris Leeper (https://christopherleeper.com).
Breakfast will be included both Saturday and Sunday. One meal at nearby restaurant The Vault will also be included courtesy of True North. True North recently relocated their offices to East Liverpool and provides accounting, bookkeeping, revenue cycle management, and consulting services to businesses nationwide.
Retreat participants will also receive gifts from Bleat & Bloom, an East Liverpool company that handcrafts nature-based wellness products. National sponsors for the retreat include M.Graham & Co., Michael Harding, Liquitex, and Rosemary & Co. Each participating artist will receive a welcome bag with generous art supply samples provided by these companies as well as a chance to win gift certificates to purchase Rosemary & Co. handmade artist brushes.
Organizer Sheri Liebschner specially thanks Sturgis House owner Carrie Ann Williams for making the retreat possible again this year and expects another great weekend of creativity and camaraderie. She hopes that the retreat will also bring attention to the culture, commerce and charm East Liverpool has to offer.
