Skin cancer screening clinics

LISBON — The Columbiana County Health District will offer two additional skin cancer screening clinics.

Both clinics will take place on Wednesdays — July 16 and Aug. 20 — at the Health District office, 7360 state Route 45, Lisbon. Appointments are required; walk-ins will not be accepted. To schedule an appointment for the skin cancer screening clinic, call 330-424-0272 ext. 114.

There will be no charge for residents within the General Health District to receive skin cancer screenings. However, residents from Salem and East Liverpool cities, as well as those from outside Columbiana County, will be charged $5, payable in cash.

Skin cancer remains the most common type of cancer, with one in five Americans developing it in their lifetime. Early detection is key, as most skin cancers can be treated effectively when caught early. We encourage residents to attend if they have suspicious lesions, such as: a sore that does not heal, a mole or wart that has changed, changes in color pigmentation of the skin or any other skin abnormalities.

Starting at $2.99/week.
