TOPS 1341

TOPS 1341 met Monday, April 21, at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church with Leader Darlene Naukam presiding. Weigh-ins and pledges preceded the roll call. The Best Loser was Kandi Kraft, and the runner-up was Darla Varney. They chose pizza and ice cream as this week’s junk foods.

Drawing Winners were: Mary Gailey, Calorie Chart; Naukam, Weight Loss; Dorothy Garn, Junk Food; Cheryl Myers, 50/50; three times in The Best Loser’s Book, Gailey; Attendance Book, Chris Plunkett for eight weeks; Returning from Vacation without a Gain, Dorothy Garn. Darla Varney held the Travel Box for week 2. Three Tops remain in the Check Contest.

Brenda Miller had the program and read an article from the TOPS magazine entitled “Embracing Change, The Power of Daily Habits.”

After prayer requests, the meeting ended with The Lord’s Prayer. For meeting information, call 330-853-8097.

WLC Club meeting

The WLC Club met on April 15 at the Living Well Church with leader Mary Jarvis opening the meeting with roll call and then Barb Q gaving the prayer.

The best loser was Gladys Buzzard and she also wore the officers ribbon. Betty Pease won the challenge, Alice Eckstein won the calorie chart drawing and Barb Tranter won the 50/50 drawing.

The No-no is potato chips. Brenda Young won the Easter contest and received a decoration that was crocheted by Linda Seevers.

An Easter luncheon was observed by all members.

Tranter read a funny story and then Jarvis closed the meeting wishing all a good week.

Allison Elementary Career Parade

Allison Elementary School will host its Career Parade at 9 a.m. Friday in Chester. This event will feature local businesses and the vehicles that represent them. This parade is an opportunity to expose students to the diverse career options available in the community and surrounding areas. Immediately following the parade, there will be a Touch a Truck event at Chester City Park.
