East Liverpool High School Scholar of the Month
East Liverpool High School has named Owen Fredritz as the January 2025 Scholar of the Month. Owen is the son of Jaime and Shawn Fredritz and a member of the ELHS Class of 2025.
He exemplifies the qualities of academic excellence, leadership and community service. Throughout his high school career, Owen has been an active member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA), the National Honor Society (NHS), and the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS). A dedicated student, Owen also pursues his passion for visual design while balancing a rigorous academic and extracurricular schedule.
Owen is a three-sport athlete, excelling in football, basketball and track. His commitment to athletics has earned him Scholar Athlete recognition in all three sports throughout high school. Additionally, Owen shares his love of sports with younger students as a Little Potters basketball coach for the 2023-2024 season and as a Camp Fitch Counselor for three consecutive years.
Beyond his contributions on the field and court, Owen has made a significant impact in his community. He dedicates his time to tutoring students at North Elementary, volunteering with the East Liverpool Beautification Committee, and creating graphic designs for FCA and various school activities, including dances, announcements, and flyers. His creativity and leadership extend to his role as a member of the Booster Club.
Since June 2024, Owen has worked at Chipotle, showcasing his strong work ethic and ability to balance responsibilities. After graduation, Owen plans to attend a four-year college to major in graphic design, further pursuing his passion for creativity and innovation.
Owen’s impressive academic achievements include being named an 8th Grade Merit Scholar and maintaining Scholar Athlete status throughout high school. His dedication, talent, and service to his school and community make him a standout member of the Class of 2025.
Owen plans to continue his success at a four-year college majoring in graphic design.
