Men’s breakfast
Boyce Church on Anna Avenue will host its men’s breakfast at 9 a.m. Nov. 16. Guest speaker will be the Rev. Chuck Adkins. All men are welcome.
EL Design Review Board meeting
The East Liverpool Design Review Board will meet on Nov. 15 at 4 p.m. at the City of East Liverpool Planning Department, 126 W. Sixth St., to consider a Certificate of Appropriateness Application filed by Windows R Us requesting approval for new window replacement to the building located at 104 E. Fifth St., and a Certificate of Appropriateness Application filed by Cathy Kerr of Craft Treasurers & Boutique requesting approval for new signage for the building located at 136 E. 5th St., East Liverpool.
Cookies and Milk with Santa
The Columbiana County 4-H program invites families to join them for Cookies and Milk with Santa on Dec. 7 from 10 a.m. to noon at the First United Methodist Church in Lisbon. Event is free but families are encouraged to bring non-perishable/ canned good items to participate in voting for the best gingerbread house. Gingerbread houses have been created by local 4-H clubs with the goal of collecting items for the First United Methodist Church Food Pantry. TOPS 1341
TOPS 1341 met Monday, Nov. 11, at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church, with Leader Darlene Naukam, presiding.
The Best Loser was Darla Varney and the Runner Up was Becky Andrews. They chose brownies and pie as this week’s Junk Foods.
Drawing winners were: Mary Gailey – Calorie Chart, Weight Loss and 50/50 – Dorothy Garn, Junk Food – Marlene Reynolds. Lydia Kraft lost 3 weeks in a row. Cathy Wollam was in the Attendance Book for 16 weeks. Andrews holds the Travel Box starting next week.
Kraft had the program and read a Morning Journal article, “Saluting All Who Have Served Our Country.” Members also observed a moment of silence.
Kraft brought Bingo and three members won vegetables as their prizes. Chris Plunket has the program next week. The meeting ended with The Lord’s Prayer. For meeting information, call 330-386-0151.
