‘Bear Hike’ nature walk planned at Scenic Vista

Stage Left will host “The Bear Hike” nature walk at 9 a.m. Saturday. Participants will meet at the pavilion at Scenic Vista Park on Wayne Bridge Road. The walk will be led by Eileen Dray-Bardon, an Ohio certified volunteer naturalist and member of the County Park District Board of Commissioners, and Lisbon Mayor Peter Wilson, an expert in local birds and bird calls and past program coordinator for the county park district. Participants will be informed on the characteristics and habits of ursus americanus (the black bear) and will have the opportunity to touch an actual black bear pelt and bear skulls. Other animals mentioned in the book will be discussed as well as many of the plants featured in this work. The walk will cover approximately 1 mile of moderately rugged terrain. Water and energy bars will be provided. Complete the online registration form by visiting https://www.stageleftplayers.org/nea-big-read
