NEW CUMBERLAND – The September meeting of the Alpha Tau chapter of the Alpha Delta Kappa International Honorary for Women Educators was held at the Swaney Memorial Library. The meeting was called to order by President Amy Hannahs. The Thought for the Day, in remembrance of 9/11, was given by President-elect Fran Jones.

Secretary Velda Icard read the minutes of the May meeting and June Executive Board meeting which were approved by the group. Treasurer Angela Cunningham gave the financial report. Jones discussed the chapter booklet and reminded members to make any corrections for their information on the ADK International website. Committee reports were given.

Under new business, altruistic projects were discussed including volunteering for the Gabriel Project. More information will be given at a later date. Two prospective members were welcomed by the group.

Hostesses for the meeting were Amy Hannahs and Pam Robinson. The members enjoyed participating in a speed question activity and a Who Are You guessing game.

The next meeting will be held Oct. 11.
