Randy Strader to perform at fair
The local “Tribute” band consisting of longtime entertainer Randy Strader and his sons Jeff and Brandon will close the Columbiana County Fair on the Midway Stage from 6:30 to approximately 9:30 p.m. Sunday with its History of American Rock & Roll Show. Special guest band will be the Original “S.R.O.” from the 1970s consisting of Chuck Reaggle, Gary Russell and Strader. The band played its first show on Nov. 6, 1974, and opened for the Steve Miller Band at the Richfield Colosseum in 1975.
Children’s programs planned
An upcoming series of children’s programs is planned at Lepper Library featuring guest speaker Ashley McLaughlin of the Family Recovery Center. The programs will be held at 4 p.m. each Monday Aug. 8, 15 and 22. The programs will be What Color is Your Brain – Feelings Aug. 8, How Full is your Bucket – Kindness Aug. 15 and Sometimes it Takes Just One! – Bullying Aug 22. Southern Local school supplies
Southern Local students may receive free school supplies from noon to 2 p.m. Aug. 13 at Inverness Hall in Highlandtown. There will also be a picnic lunch. This event is sponsored by Highlandtown Methodist and Bethel Presbyterian churches.
