Artist selected for virtual show
EAST LIVERPOOL — Barrie Smith Archer’s “Ready to Dance” was selected for inclusion in the 2022 NAEA Virtual Exhibition of Art. “Ready to Dance” is a mixed media wall-hanging comprised of fired clay, acrylics, beads, wire and feathers.
The National Art Education Association (NAEA) is showcasing artwork from art educators throughout the world in an online, juried exhibition. It is located on the association’s website, www.arteducators.org, and runs July 25, 2022 through Jan. 6, 2023. Featuring artwork created by NAEA’s vibrant professional community of visual arts educators, the collection highlights the tremendous skill and vision of members worldwide who are educators as well as fine artists.
In its call for submissions, NAEA received 425 works from 46 states, APO-AE, Canada, Cyprus, Finland, Germany, Greece, Lichtenstein, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the United Kingdom. Jurors selected 80 works for the virtual exhibition.
Submissions were reviewed in the following areas: Originality and Uniqueness; Clarity and Meaning; Innovation and Creativity; Material Usage and Medium Application; and Quality and Craftsmanship
