MLK Celebration luncheon set Monday at Wellsville church

EAST LIVERPOOL — River Valley Organizing and the NAACP of East Liverpool and Wellsville will host a free Celebration Luncheon for Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. at noon Monday at the First Baptist Church in Wellsville.

“We’re very excited for our community to come together to honor the achievements, dreams, life, and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.,” said event organizer Daniel Winston.

The event will feature guest speaker Minister Roylin Petties,vice president of the Beaver County Branch of the NAACP and a former Midland City Council member. A lunch will be provided afterwards by The Faithful Flour Catering.

Event updates will be available on the River Valley Organizing Facebook page at facebook.com/rivervalleyorganizing. Attendees are required to wear masks.

“Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. is a model of how one person can change the world,” said Winston. “I hope that everyone will be inspired to take that mindset of community service into their upcoming year.”
