Host families needed
Due to the Covid 19 pandemic, many foreign exchange students postponed their dream of studying a year in the United States. With the roll out of the vaccine and declining infection rates, many students are hoping that the 2021-2022 school year will be the year their dream comes true.
Ashley Byrne, local coordinator with the International Cultural Exchanges Services (ICES), is hoping to find local host families who are willing to open their hearts and homes to a student aged 15-18, who would like to spend the school year in the United States. Students come with their own spending money and insurance.
So far students have been accepted in the United, East Liverpool, Columbiana and Salem City School Districts.
Byrne is currently seeking host families in the Lisbon, East Palestine, Wellsville, Beaver Local and Southern Local school districts. For information about becoming a host parent, email Byrne at email@example.com or call her at 330-614-0343
