Sons of Italy fish fry

WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville Sons of Italy will be open for our Lenten fish fry Feb. 19 from 4-7 p.m. Carry out only. Menu includes baked or fried fish, fried shrimp and baked chicken dinners. All dinners come with coleslaw and a choice of french fries, macaroni and cheese or rice. Fish and chicken sandwiches, clam chowder and cake will also be available. Please call ahead to place orders at 330-532-1927, walk-in orders accepted as well. Masks required for all pick ups please.

Liverpool work will begin early

EAST LIVERPOOL — Friday’s water shutdown for the final tie-in for the Fourth Street project in East Liverpool is expected to begin between 7:30 and 8 a.m. This scheduled shutdown will last at least 5-8 hours. There is a possibility of inclement weather today that will delay the shutdown until the following week. The following areas will be affected with a loss of pressure or loss of water: The Review, Clock Tower, Mary Patterson Building, Library, Masonic Temple, KSU, YMCA, Riverview Towers, Red Cross, Walnut Street south of East Fifth and East Fourth from Broadway to Elm. Possible low pressure: Mason Color, Parsons Coal, Wharf, Grain Terminal River Road. A boil order will not be issued.

Wellsville pantry open Friday

The Wellsville First Baptist Church, 1401 Center St., will hold its regular drive-thru food pantry from 3-5 p.m. Friday. ID is required. Pantry officials ask that the vehicle trunks be open and that the drivers wear masks. The pantry is accepting new clients from Wellsville only.

Church offers GriefShare program

Lake Mount Church of Christ, 6290 state Route 7, New Waterford, is hosting a 13-week session of GriefShare beginning at 6 p.m. Sunday, Feb 28. GriefShare is a special weekly seminar and support group designed to help you rebuild your life after losing a loved one. This group is led by caring people who have experienced grief and want to help you through the difficult days ahead. Cost of the program is $5 to cover workbook and materials. Social distancing will be practiced For additional information call the church office at 330/227-3636.

TMF accepting applications

The annual application period for the Tri-State Area Tuition Mission Foundation (TMF, and formerly Dollars for Scholars) has begun. Applications will be accepted through midnight April 15. Students may apply if they reside in any of the seven districts served by TMF: Beaver Local, East Liverpool, Wellsville, Midland, South Side, Western Beaver and Oak Glen. Students in non-traditional settings, such as online schools or those who are being home-schooled, are also eligible as they reside within one of the aforementioned districts. The application can only be filled out online at TuitionMission.net. Applicants should click on the home page on the “Apply for a Tuition Award” link at the top. If applicants have in front of them the prior year’s tax information, it takes less than 15 minutes to complete the process. Applicants will find out whether or not they’re receiving funding in early to mid-June.

Lisbon Banquet serving up chili

The Lisbon Ruritans and Kiwanis are sponsoring this month’s Banquet of Lisbon. The carryout dinner will be served from 4:30-6:30 p.m. (or gone) Monday, Feb. 22 at the Presbyterian Church. The menu: chili and cornbread, tossed salad, brownies and a beverage. Anyone needing a ride can call CARTS, 330/424-4015 or Safe Ride, 330/301-9523.
