DKG Alpha Iota
COLUMBIANA — The Alpha Iota Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Teachers’ Honorary held its November meeting at Paul’s Italian Cafe and Grille in Columbiana with president Pam Todd presiding. Chaplain Maralyn Porter offered the inspiration. The business meeting was conducted with the standing rules being unanimously approved.
The program was presented by Anna Marie Vaughn, superintendent of the county Educational Service Center. She reviewed the steps that have been taken by the school superintendents and the county health department since the mass shut down in the Spring. The combined efforts of the schools and the agency, which meet on a regular basis, are proposing that the individual school districts will determine when to close due to the number of staff and student coronavirus cases. There is also a concerted attempt to allow as many school activities to safely occur as possible.
Jane Ramsey was the winner of a gift bag given by Vaughn filled with items made by the clientele of Reach for the Stars.
Any members donating school supplies to the DKG active classroom teachers may contact Todd for arrangements. There will be no December meeting.
