HOOKSTOWN — Ellarie Persohn, a senior at South Side High School, has been selected as the February student of the month by the South Side Education Association. She is the daughter of Matthew and Tawnya Persohn of Hookstown, Pa.
During high school, she was a member of the marching and concert bands as well as the percussion ensemble. She participated in horseback riding, youth group, and worked at Chick-fil-A.
She has received the Challenge Program STEM Award and the Global Travel Scholarship, and has earned distinguished honor roll through her high school career.
She plans to attend Grove City College for Biochemistry and then would like to attend Veterinary School upon gradating.
