Dawson graduates from YSU

CALCUTTA — Jack Dawson of Calcutta, graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree at Youngstown State University’s commencement ceremony on Dec. 15, 2019. Dawson majored in Journalism and minored in Political Science.

While attending YSU, Dawson worked as a multimedia content producer and weekend assignment manager for WFMJ’s evening newscasts. For several years, he also co-hosted a weekly university radio show reviewing films and discussing current events. Dawson also worked as a reporter for YSU’s student newspaper, The Jambar, writing stories about campus life and weekly events. Additionally, he helped to re-found the YSU chapter of Theta-Chi fraternity which has gone on to raise over $25,000 for various charities.

Dawson has received a scholarship to attend the Duquesne University School of Law this fall. Previously, he graduated Cum Laude from Beaver Local High School in 2015. He is the son of Dallis and Julie Dawson.
