First Baptist to celebrate pastor’s anniversary
WELLSVILLE — First Baptist Wellsville will celebrate their pastor’s fourth year anniversary at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 7. This year’s theme is “God’s Plan” (Ps. 90:17). Pastor Cheryl Ruffin of St. Paul AME Pittsburgh, will be the guest speaker. She will be accompanied by her congregation and choir.
Pastor Darren J Rogers Sr. and his wife, La’Tonya have been married for 34 years and reside in Pittsburgh. They have three children: Jasmine, Darren Jr. and Christa; and one grandson, Carter.
Pastor Rogers earned a Masters of Divinity from Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, holds a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership from Mountain State University, and a Bachelor of Science in Management from Park University. He continues to serve on the board of directors for Pittsburgh Theological Seminary, volunteers as Chaplain at the Allegheny County Jail in Pittsburgh as well as being re-elected as the president of the Wellsville Ministerial Association.
His wife, La’Tonya, is employed by Sewickley Family Office Group. She serves as a member of the advisory board for Tristate Bank, is co-founder of the PA Elite Girls Basketball Club and is involved in the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation PA/WVA chapter.
