Alpha Tau chapter meets

NEW CUMBERLAND — The Alpha Tau chapter (WV) of Alpha Delta Kappa, International Honorary Organization for Women Educators held its November meeting at the Trinity United Methodist Church in New Cumberland. President Amanda Fisher called the meeting to order.

The Thought for the Day, “A Meaningful Thanksgiving”, was read by Chaplain Kathy Griffith. Roll call was taken and minutes were distributed.

Treasurer Fran Jones gave the financial report and discussed the progress of the scholarship fundraisers. Membership Chairman Velda Icard introduced two guests. Committee reports were given.

The schedule for members who will be ringing the bell for the Salvation Army was distributed and reviewed. Information regarding the tri-chapter Christmas brunch was distributed.

The group participated in a hands-on craft project presented by member Diana Yocina.

The next meeting will be a tri-chapter meeting with Alpha Kappa and Fidelis Gamma. The brunch will be held at Scaffidi’s Restaurant on December 7.
