Tops 1341

GLENMOOR — TOPS 1341 met at the Glenmoor Presbyterian Church with leader Dorothy Garn opening with pledges. Eighteen weighed in. Best loser was Marlene Reynolds and runner-up was Janice Hutchin. July best loser was Dee Mattern and runner-up was Marwyne Serafy. July calorie chart winner was Hutchin. Drawing winners were: calorie charts, Serafy; jackpot, Kitty Phillips and 50/50, Reynolds. The no-nos were nothing to eat after 7:30 p.m. and cake.

The secretary and treasure reporta were read and approved.

Dorothy Garn read “Rules for OH TOPS 1341” and also the Bylaws, which are to be reread next week.

Dena White lost three weeks in a row, and three times in the loser’s book was Lydia Kraft. Ten remain in the TOPS check contest. Hutchin and Serafy remain in the KOPS check contest. No one returned from vacation with a gain. Phillips was in the attendance book for 16 weeks. Travel box one held by Reynolds for one week and travel box two was held by White for one week. Jane Proctor was recognized for 160 weeks attendance from July 22.

The picnic will be Aug. 19. Cards and concerns were shared. The meeting closed with the Lord’s Prayer. Visitors are welcome from 5-6:30 p.m. each Monday.

Seasoned Saints

EAST LIVERPOOL — The “Seasoned Saints” senior group met Aug. 9 at the Broadway Wharf for a pot-luck picnic.

Pres. Mary Carter welcomed all and gave the blessing for the food.

After a delicious lunch, games were played. Winners were Geraldine Allen, Mary Lynn and June Rigamonti.

Jean Hanlon posed the question of the day: “A story or remembrance of the Ohio River”. All participated with a variety of stories and memories.

Happy Birthday was sung to those having birthdays in July and August. They were Brandon Cunningham, Hanlon, Vivian Richards, Allen and Lynn.

Everyone enjoyed a time of fellowship and interaction. Donna Stevens closed the meeting with prayer.

The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 13 at EJs restaurant in Chester. Bring a friend.
