NC Lions members receive awards

NEW CUMBERLAND — The meeting of the New Cumberland Lions was brought to order by President Joyce Young. Lion Rick Tinsky offered the prayer and Lion Andrew Kefer led the Pledge of Allegiance. The minutes were accepted as read and the treasurer’s report was placed on file. Lions Bob Manypenny and Kefer organized the pulled pork for July 27.

Aug. 27 is the steak fry at Tomlinson.

Discussion as to a 2019 quilt raffle.

Lion Jeanne Cox is working with the LPN instructor from JDR IV Career Center to offer a general wellness booth at the September Riverfest.

Congratulations again to Lion Ed Fields on receiving the Leonard Jarrett Award (LJA) and Lion Betsy Wells on receiving the Melvin Jones Award (MJA). The Leonard Jarrett Award is the highest Lions honor in WV and the Melvin Jones is the highest honor internationally.
