Tops 2231

EAST LIVERPOOL — TOPS 2231 met at Always Best Care, 1324 St. Clair Ave. on Aug 6, with leader Tonnie Slagle presiding. The meeting opened with TOPS and KOPS pledges and roll call. Cassy Stephens read the secretary and treasurers report.

KOPS best loser and officer was Tonnie Slagle.

The no-nos were cookies and no eating after dinner.

The calorie chart was won by Verla Betteridge; and 50/50 and dimes, Slagle. Three weeks loss was Betteridge. KOPS in Leeway are Slagle, Betteridge, Anita Kukich, Carolyn Hager and Cassy Stephens.

Stephens had a program “Diet is a Powerful Tool for improving Overall Health.”

The meeting closed with prayer request followed by the Lord’s Prayer. New and former members are always welcome at 5 p.m. McLain Circle

EAST LIVERPOOL — The McLain Circle of the Grace Presbyterian Church met at the home of Phyllis Conley.

The Bible study was “The Body of Christ” from 1 Corinthians in the Max Lucado study book.

Jane Rose had the mission study. She told a story of a 12 year old boy from New York City and how he blessed the children in the Philippines through lego blocks.

The Mission Year Book of Prayer was given by Phyllis Conley she told of a group called “Heeding God’s Call” who are working to reduce gun violence.

Leah Bosco had the Fellowship of the Least Coin. Her article told of Canada resettling 25,000 Syrian refugees in 2016.

The September meeting will be “dinner out” at an area restaurant.
