Campground revival services begin tonight

EAST LIVERPOOL — The 97th annual camp meeting revival services takes place 7 p.m. each evening July 11-21, at the Tri-State Free Methodist Campground, located at 1027 Anderson Boulevard. Parking is available on the grounds. Casual, but respectful, dress is appropriate. Public welcome.

The evangelist for this year’s services is Rev. Howard Olver. He is an ordained minister in the Free Methodist Church, USA. Olver has more than 40 years of experience in urban inter-cultural ministry, serving churches in Brooklyn, N.Y.; Passaic, N.J.; St. Louis, Mo.; Toronto, Ontario; and Dundalk, Md. He served on the faculty of Greenville College in Illinois, and has also been an adjunct professor with Tyndale Seminary in Toronto, Ontario and Northeastern Seminary in Rochester, N.Y. In addition, he has served the church as a regional resource person for church growth and church planting, and social, ethnic and urban ministries in the Midwest. He is now officially retired and has been married to his wife, Linda, for 50 years; they live in the Bergen, N.Y., area.

Since its inception, people from many different faiths and backgrounds have attended these services and are welcome. This event draws individuals and families primarily from Ohio, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, but people attend from as far away as New York, Florida and the New England area.
