EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool Elks Lodge 258, Broadway, will be hosting a Veterans Appreciation Dinner from 5-7:30 p.m.

Today (May 21), for our members and their guests. Menu includes steak/chicken salad dinner. Cost is free for our veterans with all others for a donation. Color Guard will present the colors at 5.

CHESTER — Thunder in the Park III Classic Car, Truck and Craft Show takes place Saturday, June 22. The cruise is dedicated to Jim Wilson and Willie Murray. Time for cars and truck to register is 10 a.m. to noon. Registration fee is $6.

Crafter’s may set up 9 a.m. to noon. and must pay in cash and in advance. Crafter’s fee for inside building is $25. and includes one table and two chairs.

Outside fee is $15, bring own table and chairs. Food, drinks, music, 100 dash plaques and 25 special trophies available. The only food and drink to be sold is by Park Board only. MIDLAND — A Bake Sale and Sandwich Sale will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, May 24 in front of Jamie’s Salon, 811 Midland Ave. Donations accepted by calling 724-624-4238. All proceeds go toward the Midland 4th of July Celebration.

LISBON — The Job and Family Services Planning Committee meeting scheduled for Tuesday, May 28 at CCDJFS has been canceled due to the lack of new business and/or voting items to discuss at this time.

EAST LIVERPOOL — Tree ID and Invasive Species, presented by the Beaver Creek Wildlife Education Center volunteer Kathy Cattrell, will be held from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Saturday, May 25, in the Center’s classroom.

Participants will learn how to identify the various trees found in Columbiana County by characteristics of the leaves, bark, and flowers and will receive identification handouts to take home. The group will then take an easy half mile hike on the Logan’s Loop Trail while they identify some of the trees and examine the various invasive species found in Beaver Creek. Wear sturdy shoes, long pants and bring insect repellent. Class size is limited to 25 so register soon at beavercreekw@aol.com.

NEW CUMBERLAND — The New Cumberland Lions Club Pulled Pork take-out will be available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, May 25, in the parking lot of the Swaney Memorial Library. Costs are pork sandwich, $5.50; coleslaw topping 25 cents; smoked chicken halves, $6.

Both are available as dinners with two side dishes – baked beans AND potato salad OR coleslaw – for an additional $1.50. Whole smoked pork butts available for $26 by advanced order only. To ensure receiving the half chicken (alone or as part of a dinner) or to order a whole pork butt, advance orders must be phoned into Lion Bob Manypenny 304-564-5055 by 6 p.m. on Thursday, May 23.

EAST LIVERPOOL — The Beaver Local Leo Club and Calcutta Lions Club members attended a Leadership Conference in Alliance, on April 30. While at the conference members learned about the roles and responsibilities of being an officer.
