EAST LIVERPOOL — The Crystal Chapter celebrated their 125th anniversary. The celebration included a free pasta dinner for all members and visitors and a visitation from the Worthy Grand Matron Kelly Cholodewitsch and Worthy Grand Patron Dennis Lawson. After the meeting a program was presented, written by Pam McDowell, stating what had happened both in the history of the Chapter as well as the world and current events. The participants dressed in period style clothing. Members of the committee include: Chairman Shawn Burke , Karen Jones, Sally Crawford, Pam McDowell, Colleen van Leeuwen, Grace MClester and the members of Crystal Chapter.

Crystal Chapter 18 has a long rich history since its organization Dec. 13, 1893, by Soloman Schmunk of Cleveland with 31 members. The charter was granted October 1894. Riddle Lodge 315 invited the newly formed Chapter to meet in its lodge room which was on the third floor of the Golding Building at the corner of Fifth and Washington Streets only about one block from its current location. The Golding Building was the first building in East Liverpool to have electricity. Crystal Chapter moved with the Masonic brothers to its Temple on Broadway in December 1910 where it still meets today. Crystal is the sixth oldest chapter in Ohio with Lorraine 1, Cresent, 7, Mary 9, Grace 11 and Orion 12 being older.
