Area Seniors

EAST LIVERPOOL — A meeting of the East Liverpool Area Seniors was held Aug. 30, with 11 members present. President Jean Tomlison presiding, called the meeting to order and read scripture. Members recited The Lord’s Prayer, Pledge of Allegiance, and sang “America”.

Acting secretary, Jo Ann Fickes, checked the roll call of officers, and read the minutes of the Aug. 23 meeting. The minutes were approved and will stand as read.

Treasurer Gail Grimm reported she wrote a check for pizza and one for setting up chairs.

Ruth Wynn’s 97th birthday was celebrated. Suzzanne Andrews (Ruth’s daughter) brought a lovely cake that was shared by all. Members sang “Everybody Has a Birthday”, and wished her many more.

This week’s lucky recipient of the 50/50 was Grimm. Funny stories were told by June McCoy and Tomlison.

Motions to close were made by Margaret Brown and Betty Cassagrande. Members sang “The Evening Prayer”, and Tomlison made the closing prayer. Next meeting will be Sept. 6. Bring a sack lunch.
