NEW CUMBERLAND — The Hancock County 4-H Foundation is a sponsor of the federally-funded Summer Food Service Program.

Meals provided free to eligible children. To be eligible to receive free meals at a residential camp or an enrolled program, children must meet the income guidelines for reduced price meals in the National School Lunch Program. Children who are part of households that receive SNAP and/or TANF assistance are automatically eligible to receive free meals.

The camp is July 17-21 at Tomlinson Run State Park.

LISBON — The Buckeye Council Boy Scouts of America Sandy Beaver District is hosting its annual Cub Scout Day Camp, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. June 18-22 at the historic McKinley Scout Reservation in Lisbon.

This year’s theme is “Passport to Adventure” and will feature archery, bb guns, water activities, fishing, nature and ecology, basic first aid, emergency preparedness, field sports, hiking, handicraft, and various STEM-based scout skills — all centered around a domestic and international travel and exploration theme.

Representatives from county, state, and municipal agencies will be on premises throughout the week providing hands-on expertise and demonstrations for all participants.

Friday Family Day will close out the program with a bonfire, special visitors, and an overnight family campout. Any registered scout, age 7-10, must complete the registration process prior to start of camp. Online registration may be completed now through June 12 by visiting the Sandy Beaver District camp link available at www.buckeyecouncil.org.
