Church Women United

EAST LIVERPOOL — Church Women United will have its first organizational meeting for the new year 1 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5, at Grace Presbyterian Church, Virginia Avenue, with president Marilyn Wagner presiding over local District F Unit.

The newly-elected officers will be recognized: president, Mrs. Wagner, Grace Presbyterian; vice president, Judith Kidder, First United Methodist; treasurer, Phyllis Bosworth, Campground Community; and secretary, Mary Carter, Second Baptist.

All members, past and present, urged to attend.

“We congratulate our former president, Mrs. Kidder, who guided our local unit faithfully, successfully and spiritually, through past CWU celebrations; World Day of Prayer, May Friendship Days, World Community Days, and as our representative to many State Assemblies. Thank you for a job well done. God Bless you,” a release read. “We are now looking forward to all our friends and members to attend the first statewide and nationwide CWU of the the year.”

The Local Unit service is 1 p.m. March 2 at the Second Baptist Church, Pennsylvania Avenue, East Liverpool. Rev. Ernest E. Peachey Sr. is pastor.

Wagner extends a welcome to everyone to help the unit and CWU to continue to kindling new fires for peace, sharing and unity.

The services will be under the direction of: New Hope Missionary Baptist; Sheridan AME; and Second Baptist churches.
