Jackson named Scholar of the Month

CHESTER — Britney F. Jackson, 17, of Chester, has ‘been named the Oak Glen High School Lions Club December Scholar of the Month.

She is the daughter of Tammy S. Jackson and the late Larry B. Jackson.

During her time at Oak Glen, she has been an active member of Culture Club and Prom Committee, while also serving as president of Oak Glen’s chapter of the National Honor Society. In addition to these extracurricular activities, she lettered three times in cheerleading.

Having studied abroad in Toulouse, France, and volunteered in Chang Mai, Thailand, she intends to pursue a degree in international relations with the goal of one day serving as a U.S. diplomat. In part due to her own experience as an adopted child, she hopes to make the world a better place by focusing on international development.
