EAST LIVERPOOL — TOPS 1390 met Sept. 26 at Oakland Free Methodist Church with leader Dee Kiger presiding.
Jonnie Carnes was the best loser and Debbie Ice, the runner-up. The no-no is candy. May Kinemond won the 50/50, Anne McGee won the calorie chart drawing, and Mildred Elliott won the monthly gift basket.
Elliott’s birthday was recognized.
Kiger’s program was “Ten Reasons to Eat Less Added Sugar.”
The meeting closed with prayer requests and the Lord’s Prayer. Visitors are welcome at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays.
WELLSVILLE — The Wellsville Lions Club met Sept. 28 at the SOI Club, with King Lion Ruby Heldman conducting, and 14 members in attendance.
Reports from secretary Lion Cathy Wollam and treasurer Lion Gary Malone were read and approved.
Lion Randy Dillard reported his findings concerning the tag days for Care and Share.
Eye screening took place at Southern Local on Sept. 27, with 100 students screened. Eye screening for Wellsville students will be conducted on Oct. 2 and 4.
The forms for the apple sale were distributed. All orders need to be reported to Lion Don Heldman by Oct. 22. Delivery will be Oct. 27.
Lion Dr. Richard Lehrer will have a presentation on eye screening in general at the Nov. 9 meeting. Hopefully other area Lions Clubs will attend. One eye care case was approved by the club.
Tentative date for our “Breakfast with Santa” will be Nov. 25. For this reason we declined participation in the “Christmas in the Village” activity, scheduled for the same day.
A white elephant auction was conducted by King Lion Ruby and Lion Don as auctioneer. Members contributed wrapped items. This was a success and enjoyed by all in attendance. The next meeting will be Oct. 12 at the SOI Club.
