A nurse from United Health Care asked deputies to check on a 92-year-old woman living on Carey Road in Butler Township, who seemed disoriented when the nurse had spoken to her on the phone at 12:10 p.m. Monday. The woman had trouble opening the deadbolt for deputies, but her 86-year-old husband was able to come and open it. She also seemed disoriented to deputies, but was hesitant to go to the hospital by ambulance until her husband agreed to ride with her to the Salem Regional Medical Center so she could be checked out.
Someone reported at 2:57 p.m. Monday a missing woman from Salem was with someone at the Traveler’s Motel, south of Lisbon, and they had a black four-door vehicle. The sheriff and Lt. Allan Young went to the motel, but did not find the last names of either person registered at the motel. The black vehicle also was not in the lot.
The owner of a home being built on Woodsend Drive, Butler Township, reported at 9:32 a.m. Monday sometime over the weekend someone entered the home and stole large amounts of copper wire. The wire was sizes 12-2, 14-2 and 10-2 and was cut from a box in the bathroom. The wire was valued at between $1,000 and $1,500.
Austintown police requested police checked a Center Road, Knox Township, home at 1:34 p.m. Monday for someone involved in the unauthorized use of a vehicle in their area. Deputies found the person they were looking for no longer lives at the Center Road address.
