Thomas W. Hagan, 76, of Minerva, was charged with a marked lanes violation after he went off the right side of the road and struck a parked car belonging to Larry R. Halverstadt, 70, of Mineral City, on Rochester Road in West Township at 11:20 a.m. Thursday.
Katherine S. Plum, 47, of Wellsville, was cited for failure to control after she went straight on a curve and went off the road, striking a road sign and utility pole, while driving on state Route 45 in Yellow Creek Township at 5:35 a.m. Wednesday. Plum was uninjured.
Trucker Peter A. Ford, 50, of Farmington, N.M., was cited for assured cleared distance after he drove into the rear of an SUV operated by Mary Tyson of Salem as she slowed in traffic on U.S. Route 30 in Center Township at 9:18 a.m. Thursday.
Rogelio C. Carrizales, 48, of Dalton, Ga., lost control on a curve and went off the left side of the road, striking a cable box and tree, while driving on state Route 172 in Hanover Township at 5:15 p.m. July 30. He was cite for failure to control.
Jason V. Santini, 41, of Washingtonville, was driving west on state Route 14 in Green Township, Mahoning County, at 3 p.m. Aug. 3 when he slowed for traffic and his pickup truck was struck in the rear by an SUV operated by Jenna Fiscus, 20, of Leetonia. Santini was taken to a local hospital by his mother with minor injuries, while Fiscus and all four of her passengers were taken to local hospitals with various injuries: Connie Fiscus, 49, Lindsey Fiscus, 19, Sandra Collins, 69, and Molly Fiscus, 16. None of them were wearing their seat belts. Connie, Jenna and Sandra remained hospitalized as of Aug. 5. Jenna was cited for assured clear distance.
Rosemary Groves, 71, of East Liverpool, was cited for failure to control after she swerved to avoid a crash and went off the right side of the road into a ditch while driving on state Route 45 near Glasgow Road in Yellow Creek Township at 2:37 p.m. Wednesday. Groves said she had glanced down to check her speedometer and looked up to see the crash.
