Columbiana County Common Pleas

Bambi N. Chase, 31, Wood Street, Wellsville, pleaded guilty in Common Pleas Court to eight counts of prohibition concerning companion animals, four counts of cruelty to animals and one counts of endangering children. She faces up to eight years in prison and a $19,000 fine. Sentencing was set for Aug. 22. On March 8, 2018, Chase caused harm to six Boston Terriers and four pigs; confining at least some of the animals without food and water and had an 8-year-old child living in the home as well. Four of the dogs and two of the pigs were dead, while the others were emaciated. The home where the child was living had large amounts of feces, smelled of urine and had rotten food in the refrigerator.

Michael J. Spencer, 31, Haessly Road, Hanoverton, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of drugs for having heroin and fentanyl in his bedroom during an overdose on Jan. 16, 2016. He faces up to two years in prison, a five-year license suspension and a $5,000 fine. Sentencing is set for Aug. 23.

Sharron J. Winphrie, 36, Youngstown, pleaded guilty to two counts of possession of drugs. She faces up to a year and a half in prison, a five-year license suspension and a $3,500 fine. She had amphetamines and burprenorphine on March 9, 2018. Sentencing is set for Aug. 12.

James M. Raneri III, 65, Bell Road, Lisbon, pleaded guilty to cultivation of marijuana. He faces up to a year in prison, a $2,500 fine and a five-year license suspension. Sentencing is set for Aug. 19.

Zachary R. Fraser, 20, Scotts Mill Road, Rogers, was placed on four years community control for trafficking in drugs and possession of drugs. Fraser had five separately packaged bags of marijuana, several empty plastic bags, a set of digital scales and tamazepam in his vehicle on Jan. 22, 2017.

Bertan E. Altinordu, 30, Youngstown, was sentenced to six months in prison for possession of drugs concurrent with time being served through a case in Mahoning County. On July 23, 2017, Altinordu had .47 grams of methamphetamines in the vehicle during a traffic stop in Salem.
