The owner of an Annesley Road business reported at 7:37 a.m. May 2 that someone had vandalized his business and several nearby vehicles.

Daniel W. Board was arrested around 8 p.m. May 1 in the first block of Wood Aly on charges of driving under FRA suspension, fictitious plates, fleeing and eluding, possession of marijuana and stolen plates. According to police, a random LEADS registration check revealed a passing vehicle’s plate came back as stolen out of East Liverpool police department jurisdiction. Board led the officer on a 10 to 15 mph trip to a private alley. Board denied seeing the officer behind him when contact was made and that the plates were stolen, alleging they were on a recently purchased vehicle. During a search of his vehicle, a pill bottle containing marijuana and nine orange prescription pills was discovered near a storage bin. He also denied knowledge of the substance. The pills were forwarded to the crime lab for tests and possible additional charges.

A petty theft was reported at 2 p.m. May 1 in JCPenneys. The employees recognized the woman allegedly has a frequent shoplifter. She was described as a white pregnant female who always brings her own bag and allegedly fills it up with merchandise before asking the front register to hold a few items and leaving with the items in the bag. She was accompanied but another woman with reddish hair and left in an older maroon GMC Yukon with Ohio plates, according to witnesses.

A woman in the 49000 block of Grimms Bridge Road reported that a man known to her allegedly threatened her when she refused giving a credit card to him.

Nathan Brereton was arrested at 5:34 p.m. April 29 on Irish Ridge Road on charges of OVI, marked lanes and left of center violations. After receiving a call about a reckless driver, police observed Brereton cross the double yellow line and the white fog line before executing a traffic stop. Upon contact, the officer noted the smell of alcoholic beverage emitting from inside the vehicle while talking to Brereton. After failing field sobriety tests and providing a .138 BAC sample, he was charged and released to family members.

James Davis was cited at 3:46 p.m. April 29 on Calcutta Smithferry Road with driving under suspensions.

— A local woman said that she returned an item for a refund for $58.75 at Calcutta Walmart shortly before 3 p.m. May 1 and her card was still charged. Report filed.
