Benefit for Oak Glen

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — A night the races to benefit the Oak Glen boys basketball team will be held Saturday at the American Legion in Chester.

Doors open at 5 p.m., buffet dinner at 5:30 p.m. and post time is 7 p.m. Admission is $8.

Ohio Northern takes OAC

DELAWARE — The Ohio Northern men’s cross country team captured its second straight title at the Ohio Athletic Conference Championships on Saturday.

Ohio Northern was first with 29 points, followed by Mount Union with 43.

Ohio Northern senior Andrew Harden won the men’s 8K race at Columbus State Community College in 25 minutes, 24.4 seconds, finishing two seconds ahead of Mount Union freshman Preston Myers.

Mount Union senior Chad Bosel from Lisbon was 85th (28:59.0) out of 143 runners

Otterbein sophomore Claire Lamb topped the 125-runner women’s field in 21 minutes, 57.5 seconds on the 6K course.

Otterbein and John Carroll both scored 46 points with Otterbein winning the women’s team title on a sixth-runner tiebreaker.
