Honoray coaches named

LISBON — Honorary coaches for the 34th annual Columbiana County Classic at Lisbon High School on Tuesday will be will be longtime game supporters Vicki Fowler and Tom Brittain of Brittain Motors, attorney Bret Apple and Heartland Christian athletic director Susanne Shields.

Honorary captains will be attorney Katie Kibby and Lisbon booster and fan Kara Craig.

The games will feature the top senior basketball players in the county with the girls game beginning at 6 p.m., followed by the boys game. Tickets are $5 for adults and $3 for students.

Twenty-four $500 scholarships will be awarded by the Columbiana County Basketball Coaches Association.

Roach to play in All-Star Game

GNADENHUTTEN — Three area basketball players will take part in the District 5 Basketball Coaches Association East-West All-Star Game set for March 29 at Indian Valley High School.

East Liverpool’s Gabe Roach and Minerva’s Brice Williams will be a part of the boys’ East team, while Minerva’s Addie Rhodes will play for the girls’ East team.

Action starts at 6:30 p.m. with the girls game. The boys will follow. Cost is $6.

Lincoln Park secures spot in final

NEW CASTLE, Pa. — Lincoln Park Performing Arts Charter School is headed to the Pennsylvania state championship game.

The Leopards (26-4) knocked off Sharon 67-58 on Tuesday in the PIAA Class 3A semifinal at New Castle High School.

Andrew Wilder had 28 points to lead the winners, while Isaiah Smith had 20 points.

The Leopards had a 19-point lead cut to three in the fourth quarter before pulling out the win.

Lincoln Park, based out of Midland, will play Trinity at 2 p.m. on Saturday in Hershey for the the state championship.
