Travis propels Oak Glen

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va.–Behind a big effort from forward Ethan Travis, the Oak Glen boys basketball team held off North Marion 57-52 Saturday.

The Golden Bears improve to 15-3 overall. North marion falls to 11-9.

Travis finished the afternoon with 22 points and 18 rebounds. With the score tied and under a minute remaining, he came up with a steal and converted an “and-1” to help put the Golden Bears over the top.

Zach Taylor added 12 points for the Golden Bears, while Sean Smith had 12 points. Gage Patterson dished out five assists.

Oak Glen won the jv game 52-42. Brayden Mineared had 21 points for the Golden Bears.

Oak Glen hosts an OVAC 4A semifinal Tuesday against St. Clairsville.
