Tigers stay perfect in EOAC

WELLSVILLE –Wellsville stayed perched atop the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference with a 25-8, 25-17, 25-6 win over Lisbon Tuesday.

The Tigers are now 9-1 overall and 7-0 in the EOAC.

For Wellsville, Regan Pierson had six kills, 21 assists and two blocks, Delaney Cochran had seven kills and six assists, Kiki Perry had seven kills and two aces, Peyton Davidson had five aces and three kills, Kinley Martin had seven kills and two aces, Emma Smith had three kills and three blocks, Greta Cartwright had 10 assists and Jenna McNicol had 19 digs and two aces.

For Lisbon (6-4, 4-3), Maddie Liberati had seven kills and five blocks.

In jayvee action, Wellsville won 25-19, 21-25, 25-13. Meaghan Nixon had nine kills for the Tigers, while Paige Green had four aces and 15 assists.

Lisbon is at United on Thursday.

Southern 3, Toronto 0

SALINEVILLE–The Southern volleyball team swept Toronto 25-21, 25-11, 25-21 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference action Tuesday.

The Indians improve to 7-1 overall and 6-1 in the EOAC.

For Southern, Maddie Paxson had 12 points and eight kills, Riley Felton 10 points, seven kills and a block and Alexis Rhodes eight points and four kills.

Southern hosts Buckeye Local and Youngstown East in a doubleheader today starting at 3:30 p.m.

Beaver Local 3, John Marshall 0

CALCUTTA–The Beaver Local volleyball team bested John Marshall 25-18, 25-11, 22-25, 25-20 Tuesday.

For the Beavers, Morgan Bouscher had 13 digs and five kills. Hannah Call had two aces, 10 digs and 14 points. Kinzie Galeoti had nine digs. Abby Jackson had five kills and three blocks. Madison Kendall had four aces, 18 assists and 15 points. Madison Smith had 17 kills, 6 points and two blocks. Elaina Howell had 13 assists.

Beaver Local won the jayvee match 25-16, 25-18. Brooke Schwerha had nine assists and 11 points for the Beavers. Grace Hill added seven kills.

The Beavers play again Thursday in their Attack Against Awareness game at East Liverpool.

United 3, East Palestine 0

HANOVERTON–United beat East Palestine 25-14, 25-13, 25-23 in volleyball action Tuesday.

The Eagles are now 4-7 overall and 4-3 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs fall to 5-6, 3-4.

United was led by Rachel Bowen with 16 kills and three blocks. Savannah Burton added six aces, five kills and 12 points. Brooke Smith had six aces and 15 points, while Haley Dees and Lauren DelVichio had 16 and 11 assists respectively. Maddie Foster with 7 points, two aces and 7 kills.

Columbiana 3, Leetonia 1

LEETONIA — Columbiana bounced Leetonia 25-13, 25-15, 21-25, 25-12 on Tuesday in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference play.

For Columbiana, Abby Parish had six kills and two aces. Alyssa Tohm had six aces, six digs and four assists. Harmony Offenburg added five kills. Grace Witmer had four aces, six digs and five assists.

Elyssa Jones had nine assists, four points and four aces for Leetonia. Emily Aukerman had four assists, three aces and three points.

Columbiana won the jayvee portion, 25-22, 25-19. Camile Zentner had four kills for the Clippers.
