Potters topple Beavers

CALCUTTA — The East Liverpool volleyball team upped its record to 6-0 by downing Beaver Local, 25-18, 15-25, 25-18, 25-19, Tuesday.

Leaders for the Potters were Skye stokes with 18 kills, six aces and three blocks; Emma Ludwig nine kills, six blocks and two aces; Sharnae Wilson two kills and nine blocks; Terran Stacy 24 assists and five blocks; Emily Recktenwald two kills; and Naudia Williams one kill.

For the Beavers, Morgan Bouscher had two kills, two blocks and nine digs; Hannah Call 13 points and nine digs; Madison Smith 12 kills, three points and four blocks; Madison Kendall 11 assists and three digs; Abby Jackson two kills and three blocks; Karlee Furman three kills; Addison Guildoo four kills, one block and five digs; Elaina Howell 10 points, three aces and 10 assists; Heavyn Wolski four kills; and Cierrah Thurik five points.

Both teams play Thursday as the Potters travel to Claymont and the Beavers take on Buckeye Local.

Beaver Local won the junior varsity match against East Liverpool, 25-19, 25-17. Cierrah Thurik had 8 points. Alannah Boyd had 4 points. Erin O’Hara had 5 points.

Wellsville 3, United 0

WELLSVILLE–The Wellsville volleyball team dominated United 25-5, 25-9, 25-10 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference action Tuesday.

Wellsville improves to 6-1 overall and 5-0 in the EOAC.

For the Tigers, Kiki Perry finished the evening with nine kills and two blocks, Kinley Martin had eight kills and four aces, Regan Pierson had 23 assists and four kills.

Also for Wellsville, Delaney Cochran added four aces and three kills, Peyton Davidson had three aces, three kills and four assists. Emma Smith had four kills. Jenna McNicol had 11 digs.

United is 2-6 and 2-2 EOAC.

The Eagles were led by Rachel Bowen with one ace and seven kills, Savannah Burton three kills, and Haley Dees and Lauren Delvichio each had four assists.

Wellsville also won the jayvee match 25-17, 25-11.

Gia Pucci had five kills and four aces for the Tigers. Paige Green added 16 assists and two kills.

Both teams play Thursday as Wellsville is at East Palestine and United hosts Columbiana.

Oak Glen 3, Indian Creek 1

WINTERSVILLE–Oak Glen defeated Indian Creek, 25-9, 25-20, 21-25, 25-14, in volleyball action Tuesday.

Hannah Rogers racked up 18 points, 20 kills and 10 aces for the Golden Bears. Jaedyn Hissam added 15 points and 32 assists.

Also for Oak Glen, Brittney Giorgini had nine aces, Hanna Tice had 10 points and six kills and McKayla Goodlin had four kills, four blocks and five digs. Alayna Kranis added seven kills and seven digs, while Rileigh Hooker had seven digs.

Oak Glen travels to WeirtonMadonna on Thursday.

Southern 3, East Palestine 2

SALINEVILLE — The Southern volleyball team won a hard-fought 25-12, 20-25, 12-25, 25-22, 15-11 victory over East Palestine Tuesday.

The Indians are now 5-1 overall and 4-1 in the Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference. The Bulldogs drop to 5-4 and 3-2 EOAC.

For the Indians, Maddie Paxson tallied 13 kills, while Riley Felton had 16 kills and eight blocks.

Also for Southern, Cheyenne Utt had 14 points, Alexis Rhodes had 13 points, Erin Boyle had nine points and eight digs and Hannah Hayes had 25 assists and six kills.

For East Palestine, Madelyn Hostetter had 13 points, four aces and seven digs; Emily Berger nine kills, six blocks and seven digs; Madee Foster seven points, three aces, eight kills and 39 digs; and Mady Pickett six points, four blocks, 25 assists and 10 digs.

East Palestine won the jayvee match 25-9, 25-14. Camryn Mellott had four kills for the Indians.

Both teams play Thursday as Southern is at Lisbon and East Palestine hosts Wellsville.

Lisbon 3, Leetonia 0

LEETONIA–Lisbon downed Leetonia 25-11, 25-15, 25-6 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference volleyball action Tuesday.

Maddie Liberati led the Blue Devils with 19 points and 12 aces, while Chloe Smith had 12 points and six aces.

Elyssa Jones had four assists and four aces for Leetonia.

Columbiana 3, Toronto 0

COLUMBIANA–The Columbiana volleyball team defeated Toronto 25-16, 25-20, 25-18 in Eastern Ohio Athletic Conference action Tuesday.

Madison Moser led the Clippers (2-5, 2-3 EOAC) with 19 points, four aces and three kills. Maci Linhart added 23 digs, while Tori Long had 15 digs and six kills. Abby Parish finished with six kills and four blocks.

Columbiana won the jayvee match 25-22, 22-25, 25-13. Julia Rapp had six kills and two aces for the Clippers.

Columbiana is at United Thursday.
