Oak Glen girls put six past Weir

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — The Oak Glen girls soccer team defeated Weir High, 6-1, during its Fundraiser for the Wounded Warriors on Saturday.

Maggie Kovalcik scored twice and assisted once for the Golden Bears (6-1). Natalie Sevyrka, Brooklyn Watts, Brooklyn Loveland and Reese Enochs all scored once. Loveland recorded three assists, while Enochs had two. Kaylee Travis made two saves in goal.

For the Red Riders (3-5), Isabella Aperfine scored the lone goal, while Megan Cramer assisted. Alexis Vuillelr made 14 saves.

Oak Glen travels to Steubenville Catholic Central on Monday.

Magnolia 1

NEW MANCHESTER, W.Va. — Dan Dwoskin had four goals as Oak Glen’s boys soccer team cruised to a 10-1 win over Magnolia on Saturday.

Wyatt Wiley added two goals and an assist. Parker Provenzano, Gage Bailey and Matt Wright also scored.

Lucas Harris had three assists, while Jeremy Adams had two assists. Bailey, Nick Garmire and Andrew Snyder had single assist tallies.

Jacob Clark had five saves.

Oak Glen is 4-1-12 and is at St. Clairsville on Monday.

Morgantown 4,

Beaver Local 1

CALCUTTA — Morgantown secured a 4-1 win over Beaver Local on Saturday afternoon in girls soccer action.

Selena Rogers scored for Beaver, 5-2. Jackie Francis had 12 saves in goal.

Beaver is at Indian Creek on Monday.

Beaver Local 1, Weir 1

WEIRTON, W.Va. — Beaver Local’s boys soccer team drew Weir 1-1 on Saturday.

Beaver Local is 3-1-2 and hosts Edison on Thursday.
