Five athletes win OVAC titles

ST. CLAIRSVILLE — Five area athletes captured victories at the Ohio Valley Athletic Conference Track and Field Championships on Saturday.

Oak Glen’s Kellen Tropeck took first in the boys Class 4A discus with a throw of 162-feet-11.

Beaver Local’s Teddi Kinsey won the girls Class 5A 100-meter hurdles in Class 5A with a time of 16.72 seconds.

Oak Glen’s Maggie Kovalcik went 16-feet-11 to win the Class 4A long jump.

East Liverpool’s Darshay Foster took first in the Class 4A 1600-meter run with a time of 5:50.21.

Oak Glen’s Kylee Williams throw of 35-5 was good for first in the Clas 4A shot put. Williams took third in the discus with a throw of 107-10.

Beaver Local’s Devin Jackson took second in the shot put with a throw of 44-0 1/2 in Class 5A.

Payton Rinestone took second in the 100 dash with a time of 13.57 for the Beavers.

East Liverpool’s Morgan Morris finished second in the 800 run with a time of 2:37.89 and fellow Potter Darshay Foster took fourth at 2:44.09.

Gage Paterson took third in the long jump for the Golden Bears at 20-06.75.

Beaver Local’s 3200 relay team finished third with a time of 10:28.76

Beaver Local’s Kinsey took fourth in the long jump at 14-08 in Class 5A. Kinsey also took second in the 300 hurdles at 48.24. Fellow Beaver Josh Speelman also took fourth at 18-0.5 on the boys long jump.

Beaver Local’s Zak Pappas took fourth in the 100 dash at 11.91.

Beaver Local girls finished 22nd with a score of 36 in Class 5A.

Oak Glen girls finished 16th in Class 4A with 54 points. East Liverpool girls finished in 28th with a score of 22.

On the boys side, Beaver Local finished 30th with a score of 16. Oak Glen finished in 18th with a score of 48 in Class 4A.
