Potters defeat Rebels

EAST LIVERPOOL — The East Liverpool boys bowling team topped a new Crestview team by more than 1,000 pins Wednesday.

The Potters beat the Rebels 2,301 to 1,282 at Walnut Lanes.

Anthony DeMarco had a 218 game and 396 series and Aaron Brophey a 204 game and 385 series to lead the Potters.

For the Rebels, Tanner Daub had a 129 high game.

East Liverpool will play Wellsville at Walnut Lanes on Monday.

Wellsville boys clinch conference title

YOUNGSTOWN–The Wellsville boys bowling team wrapped up the TMC Valley Conference regular season championship Wednesday with a 2,224-1,861 victory over Ursuline at Wedgewood Lanes.

The Tigers are now 16-2 overall and finish with a perfect 14-0 record in conference play.

Charles Click led the way with a 246 high game and a 437 series. Ryan Miller followed with a 224 high game and a 393 series.

In the girls match, Wellsville won 1,559-1,539.

The Tigers improve to 9-9, 9-5. Heather Shafer led Wellsville with a 162 high game and a 267 series. Regan Pierson added a 136 high game and a 252 series.

The Tigers are back in action Friday at the TMC Valley Conference tournament at Boardman Lanes.
