Beavers shine at Terlesky Invite
POLAND–Led by an 84 from medalist Carsyn Hoppel, the Beaver Local girls golf team came away with the Division II title at the Christine Terlesky Invitational Monday at The Lake Club.
The tournament consisted of eight Div. I schools and nine Div. II schools.
The Beavers finished with a total of 350.
Backing up Hoppel were Hayley Phillips and Bekah Kyler with a pair of 88s. Reed McGeehan added a 90. McKenna Kyler shot a 97.
Also in Division II, Cardinal Mooney finished with a total of 374, while Columbiana shot 390.
GlenOak was the Division I winner with a total of 340. GlenOak’s Jessica Hahn was the Div. I medalist with a 69.
Weir 161, Beaver 164
CALCUTTA — Weir bested Beaver Local’s boys golf team 161-164 on Monday at Beaver Meadows.
For Weir, Noah Wodnicki had a 35, Jesse Tuftin 36, Jasmine Tuftin 44 and Dom Simich 47.
For Beaver Local, Cameron Lane had a 38, T.J. Wilson 39, Grant Hall 41 and Timmy McGeheen 46.
Beaver Local is 9-1 and is at the OVAC tournament on Thursday at the Jones Course at Speidel Golf Club.
TORONTO — Toronto knocked off Southern 166-173 on Monday at Beaver Meadows.
For Southern (5-8), Nick May had a 38, Jared Garner 44, Tanner Patterson 45 and Mason Tribelo 46.
For Toronto, Cole Degarmo 40, Zach Gulczynski 41, Hunter Keenan 42 and A.J. Clegg 43.
Southern plays at the OVAC tournament today.
South Range 148, Crestview 177
CALCUTTA — South Range’s golf team was a 148-177 winner over Crestview on Monday.
For South Range, John Popa had a 36, Justin Sympson 40, Tom Roux 35 and Ryan Turnbull 37.
For Crestview, Ethan McCloskey had a 41, Hudson Straney 43, Nate Wisbith 45 and Ariana Rodi 48.
South Range is 8-3. Crestview is 10-5.
SEBRING — McDonald was a 189-225 winner over Sebring on Monday at the Berlin Lake Club.
For Sebring, Collin Baia had a 44, Jake Hunter 64, Joey Clark 58 and Andrew Lamp 59.
Sebring is 0-16.
For McDonald, Ethan Domitrovich had a 41, Patrick Ruane 48, Josh Werle 49 and Nick Zarbaugh 50.
Sebring is at Jackson-Milton on Tuesday at Lakeside Golf Course.
