Potters bested by Branch

EAST LIVERPOOL — The West Branch girls tennis team beat East Liverpool and the rain.

The Warriors opened up a 3-0 lead and was leading the two doubles matches before play was suspended due to rain. The doubles matches will be completed when East Liverpool visits West Branch on Aug. 31.

West Branch improves to 6-0 overall and 5-0 in the North East Tennis League. The Warrios will host Canton South on Tuesday.

FIRST SINGLES: Marina Egli (WB) def. Makayla Arcuragi, 6-0, 6-0.

SECOND SINGLES: Lauren New (WB) def. Chloe Stewart, 6-2, 6-1.

THIRD SINGLES: Macie Schrecengost (WB) def. Abby Green, 6-2, 6-1.

FIRST DOUBLES: Allison Slutz-Morgan Hovorka (WB) leading Lani Spahn-Ally Wells, 6-4, 3-2 suspended.

SECOND DOUBLES: Ashlyn Pinkerton-Hayley Krahling (WB) leading McKenzie Harmon-DeLanie Smith, 7-5, 1-0 suspended.

JV: Carrie Bandy (WB) won 4-1.
