Bears bow out early

CHARLESTON, W.Va — Both the Oak Glen boys and girls track teams did not have anyone advance after day one of the West Virginia class AA state track meet at Laidley Field in Charleston, W.Va.

On the boys side, Isaac Rosohac was the only point-earner with a fifth-place finish in the shot put. Rosohac had a toss of 44-7 1/2. The top six finishers in the finals earned points.

In other finals action, Kellen Tropeck took ninth in the shot put (43-1 1/2) and eighth in the discus (137-10). The Oak Glen boys 4400 meter shuttle hurdle team of Colin Stanley, Dakota Graves, Connor Rosenlieb and Dakota Warren finished seventh with a time of 1:01.12.

Chase Crago was eliminated in the 100 meter dash preliminaries with 10th place finish (11.58). The top eight finishers in the preliminaries advance to the finals.

Crago fell one spot short in the 200 dash, as he finished ninth with a time of 23.37.

On the girls side of things, Oak Glen’s Kylee Williams had a strong showing in the discus, finishing third with a throw of 109-9. Williams also finished ninth in the shot put with a toss of 30-8 1/2.
