Nenichka, Barnes combine for no-hitter

LISBON — Marcus Nenichka and Noah Barnes combined for a five-inning no-hitter in Lisbon’s 18-0 victory over Leetonia on Monday.

Nenichka started, picked up the win and struck out two in three innings. Barnes tossed the final two frames and struck out five. Nenichka recorded a home run, double, single and three RBIs at the plate. Cam Summers also tallied three hits (two doubles and a single) and three RBIs. Justin Sweeney added two doubles, a single and two RBIs.

Leetonia, trailing 11-0 after the first inning, drew three walks from Isaac Stecker, Logan Olenick and Tanner Barr.

Columbiana 10, Wellsville 1

WELLSVILLE — Connor Stacey went 3-for-4 with a double and two RBIs as Columbiana beat Wellsville, 10-1, Monday.

Keenan Green and Zach Fahs each hit doubles and Mitch Davidson had a first-inning triple for the Clippers.

Columbiana scored five runs in the third inning, getting runs in each of the last five innings.

Chase Franken pitched three scoreless innings for the victory to move to 3-0 on the season.

Wellsville got two hits from Matt Rawson.

Columbiana improves to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the ITCL White Division, while Wellsville drops to 2-3 and 2-1 ITCL.

The teams play at Columbiana today.
