Baker wins twice at Brooke Relays

WELLSBURG, W.Va–It was a productive day for Lindsay Baker at the Brooke Relays Saturday, as the East Liverpool senior took home victories in both the shot put and the discus. Baker won the shot put with a throw of 40 feet, four inches, breaking both the meet and stadium records. The winning throw in discus was 128 feet, six inches.

Oak Glen’s Maggie Kovalcik captured the long jump with a jump (16-5). Also for the Golden Bears, Kellen Tropeck won the discus (138-3).

The Oak Glen boys and girls teams each finished in third, while the East Livepool boys and girls teams each finished 10th. Big Walnut won the girls meet with 150 points. Euclid won the boys meet with 155 points.

The Oak Glen relay teams also enjoyed productive days. The Oak Glen girls 400, 800 and 1600 meter relay teams, which finished second, third and second respectively, while the Oak Glen boys 800, 1600 and 440 shuttle hurdle teams all finished third.

Other local placers included Oak Glen’s Jake McCoy (third in the 400), East Liverpool’s Levi George (third in the 1600), Oak Glen’s Connor Rosenlieb (third in the 300 hurdles) and Oak Glen’s Isaac Rosohac (second in the shot put).
