Indians crush Rebels

SALINEVILLE–Southern cruised to a 53-29 win over Crestview in boys basketball action Friday.

The Indians improve to 1-1. The Rebels drop to 0-3.

Jacob Joiner had a solid all-around game for Southern with 14 points, nine rebounds, four steals and three assists. Domanick Michael added 14 points.

Crestview was led by Wyatt Woodring and Vhance Mustake with six points apiece.

Southern won the jayvee game 48-36. Max Hart had 17 points for the Indians. Hunter Woodring had 13 points for the Rebels.

Southern is at McDonald Tuesday.

EAST PALESTINE — Lisbon held off a late comeback attempt by East Palestine during its 65-59 victory on Friday.

Justin Sweeney led the Blue Devils with a game-high 24 points, five assists and three steals. Seth Stokes had 15 points, seven rebounds and three blocks. Branson Brownfield also tallied 15 points along with seven rebounds.

For the Bulldogs, Parker Sherry led with 15 points. Brandon Kemp recorded 14, while Dominic Posey added 11.

Lisbon hosts Western Reserve on Tuesday.

East Palestine won the jayvee game 58-28. Dalton Vance had 13 points for the Bulldogs. Lisbon’s Spencer Cox had 11.

Wellsville 79, United 57

WELLSVILLE — Wellsville improved to 3-0 with a 79-57 win over United on Friday.

Justin Miller once again led the Tigers as he scored 28 points and pulled in six rebounds. Branzen Grodhaus and Mike Shope had 17 points each to aid the attack. Shope also had five assists, while Grodhaus had four rebounds and four assists with three steals. Jake Green also contributed 10 points.

Jake Clark scored 20 points to lead the Eagles, 0-2. Kaden Smith added 16 points.

Wellsville won the jayvee game, 62-22. Matt Rawson had 14 points for the Eagles.

The Tigers are back in action today at Beaver Local.

HOOKSTOWN, Pa.–The South Side basketball team opened its season with a 79-35 win over Western Beaver Friday.

Jared Conti led the Rams with 22 points. Jake mcDougal added 17 points. South Side hosts Rochester today.
