Mount Union women fall
BLOOMINGTON, Ill. — The Mount Union women’s soccer team fell to nationally-ranked Trinity (Texas), 2-1, in the first round of the NCAA Tournament at Illinois Wesleyan University on Saturday afternoon. Trinity is ranked No. 3 in the country.
The loss ends the season and a school-record 11-game unbeaten streak for the Purple Raiders, who finish with an overall record of 12-7-3. The Raiders’ NCAA Tournament appearance is the first-ever in team history.

Warren JFK rolls
SALEM — Fourth-ranked Warren JFK warmed up a cold Saturday night at Reilly Stadium with a 16-3 win over eighth-ranked Mogadore in Division VII playoff action.
JFK opened up a 9-3 lead at halftime and held Mogadore scoreless in the second half. JFK missed three field goal attempts.
The Eagles (11-1) will play second-ranked Norwalk St. Paul (12-0) next Saturday night.
Mogadore, which defeated JFK on the way to the state title game last year, finished its season at 9-3.
