VOLLEYBALL: Beavers, Tigers blanked

CALCUTTA – Beaver Local’s volleyball team had no trouble with Buckeye Local in a 25-17, 25-10, 25-11 rout on Tuesday.

Beaver Local is 2-1.

For the Beavers, Tannar Dolhun had six kills, eight digs and five points. Camryn Jarrett added seven kills. Ashlyn Milhoan had six kills, three assists, 10 digs and 25 points. Jordan Simpson had nine digs. Bobbie Ann Theiss chipped in two kills and three assists.

The Beaver JV team won 25-11, 25-9. For the Beaver (3-0), Kaitlynn Pugliano had 12 points and eight assists. Katie Barber, Megan Buchheit and Reed McGeehan had three kills each.

Beaver Local’s freshman won 25-12, 25-11. Jillian Ohara had 14 points.

Beaver Local hosts Wellsville on Thursday.

Western Reserve 3, Wellsville 0

BERLIN CENTER – Rachel Maslach had 15 kills, 21 assists, eight digs and 10 points as Western Reserve rolled to a 25-15, 25-23, 25-14 win over Wellsville on Tuesday.

Aleah Hughes had 21 kills and 14 digs, while Marissa Phipps had 20 assists.

Western Reserve is 4-0, 1-0.

For the Tigers, Jayla Martin had nine kills, Angelica Scarabino had three aces and Shana Hamilton had 16 assists.

Edison 3, Steubenville Central 2

RICHMOND – The Edison volleyball team picked up its first win of the season with a 3-2 win over Steubenville Central.

Leading for the Wildcats was Allison Crawford with 13 poitns, six kills and one dig, along with Cassady Jarvis with 10 points, 25 kills and three digs, Caitlin Shannon with 11 points, two kills, 40 assists and four digs, and Kayleigh Westbrook with 10 points, one kill and 14 digs.

Also scoring for the Wildcats was Skylar Fankhauser with five points, one kill and six digs, Tera Anderson with four points and four digs, McKenzie Morrison with three points, nine kills and four digs, Kayla Huff with three kills and a block, and Cheyenne Matta with two digs.
