East Liverpool dominates Martins Ferry

EAST LIVERPOOL – The East Liverpool volleyball team spoiled Martins Ferry’s first match of season with a 25-20, 25-11, 25-19 victory Tuesday.

For the Potters (1-1), Kylie Golden had 15 hits and five aces, while Sierra Voorhees had nine points and 18 assists, and Madison White had 15 assists. Caitlyn Davis had 15 kills, Lindsay Baker had eight kills, and Paige Craig had five kills.

The Potters also won the junior varsity game 25-8, 25-17, and improve to 2-0. Kinsey Woodward led with 12 points, followed by Sydney Dawson with seven points, and Sage Calhoun with eight hits and three kills.

The Potters head to Martins Ferry on Thursday.

Beaver Local 2

CALCUTTA-The Beaver Local volleyball team squandered a two-set lead and fell to Ursuline 17-25, 24-26, 25-16, 25-22, 15-12 Tuesday.

Tannar Dolhun led the Beavers with nine kills, 13 digs and 10 points, while Camryn Jarrett had 17 kills, seven digs and nine points.

Also for the Beavers, Ashlyn Milhoan had six kills, and eight digs, Lynsey Reckner had 12 assists and 10 digs and Ashton Roberts had 10 digs and four points.

Beaver Local won the jayvee game 25-17, 25-6.

The Beavers travel to Youngstown East on Thursday.
